I’m Jonathan Chin, a software engineer and photographer, based in New York, where I have lived my entire life.
As a software engineer, I am interested in solving problems that will benefit others and the planet. I mostly dabble in the usual Frontend technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. More recently I’ve been using TypeScript on a daily basis.
As a photographer, I am interested in preserving the mundane oddities of the everyday through my photos. I am motivated to document New York as-is, seen from the lens of a native New Yorker, with candidness and empathy. I draw inspiration from the likes of Garry Winogrand, Jeff Mermelstein, and Helen Levitt.
I also co-manages a music blog called Cereal + Sounds.
